Board Of Directors:

 

City Kids Organizational structure:
City Kids is run by a Board of Directors. Board members are elected by the parents at the AGM in June. The term for Chairperson is 18 months. Other positions on the Board are for one year, and are renewable by election. The Board meets once a month.

Role of the Board

  • Ensure that the philosophy and vision of the school is carried out
  • Represent the parent body and manage the school responsibly
  • Hire staff (teaching, administrative, and support) who understand our vision and can implement it fully
  • Comply with EDB (Education Department) regulations for preschools
  • Cooperate with the HKPPA (our parent organization) in setting standards for high quality preschool education and ensuring that we comply with those standards
  • Conduct matters in in accordance with the City Kids constitution
  • Set the operating budget
  • Facilitate a positive school community which includes families, teachers, administrative staff and support staff

 

Individual Roles

Part A:

Chairperson:
  • Oversee the Board
  • Supervise the Principal and Office Manager
  • Serve on the HKPPA Board of Directors

 

Treasurer:

  • Oversee financial accounts
  • Ensure that there is a budget and that it is followed
  • Conduct a monthly 'audit' ensuring that monies are being appropriately distributed
  • Prepare an annual report

 

Secretary:

  • Take notes at the meetings
  • Prepare and distribute the minutes of the meetings

 

Part B:

Duty parent coordinator:

  • Assign duty parents to days and maintain a waitlist of interested parents
  • Liase with Principal on matters related to training,concerns,suggestions

 

Social Events coordinator(s): Ideally two or three people here

  • Plan community social events on a regular basis
  • In Term 1, this is the School Fair,so you will coordinate the fair

 

Playgroup representative:

  • Represent the playgroup parents
  • Bring their concerns, needs to the attention of the Board
  • Liase with the Head of Playgroup
